I am an aspiring Music Journalist. I would love to study music journalism at university because I feel so strongly about music as a whole. I've always enjoyed listening to all genres and types of music from Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams who my parents have always listened to, to All Time Low and McFly, who are two of my favourite bands currently. Ideally, I would love to be a musician, writing my own songs, playing to crowds all around the world. It is an absolute dream of mine but... sadly it doesn't seem like I have been blessed with much musical ability, yes I can kind of hold a tune, play a couple of songs on the piano and work my way around a fret board, but I honestly don't believe I have the talent or definition to ever achieve this dream. However, this doesn't mean that I want to give up working with music, quite the contrary! As I have mentioned, music is a huge part of my life, and I hope that it always will be because I believe that it is the most beautiful form of art in this world, the way it can pick you up, tear your heart in two, make you want to scream at the top of your lungs, or dance like nobody's watching. I love that certain songs can bring back memories, be them happy or sad, and take you back to those moments for a short period of time. Music has a power over us to make us feel so many different emotions, and I just think that it is amazing.
Even though I am open to most genres of music, I do have my favourite bands/artists within particular genres too. At the moment, I mostly listen to All Time Low, McFly (and McBusted), Panic! At The Disco, Twenty One Pilots, Blink-182, Green Day, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, The 1975, Arctic Monkeys, The Vamps, 5 Seconds of Summer, James Bay, Bastille, Jessie J, Sia, Ellie Goulding, Imagine Dragons, My Chemical Romance etc. but as I say, I will listen to almost anything so please don’t think that this blog will only focus on those bands and artists.
So, I have decided that, for my first proper post, I am going to review one of my absolute favourite albums: "Future Hearts" by All Time Low. So look forward to that coming soon! (Not all reviews are going to based around bands that are my own particular favourites, if this blog builds up a larger audience I will start asking for requests as to what to review in the hope to try and attract and cater for as many people as possible)
Thank you to anyone who has read my first post! As you can probably tell, this is my first time blogging so I'm still trying to find my place and style but I hope that soon I can build up an audience and be able to interact with you guys soon too!
